Beck to Obama Supporters: I Admitted I Was Wrong, Why Can’t You?
Earlier this week, Glenn Beck admitted liberals were right about getting into Iraq all those years ago. But today he followed that up with a plea to supporters of President Obama: if I can admit I was wrong about Iraq, can’t you admit you’re wrong in your blind trust of Obama?
Beck argued that back then, the right was so wrapped in the flag and so blinded by patriotism that they didn’t really listen to what liberals were saying. And on the flip side, he called for an “honest broker of truth” or two on the left who can look at all the Obama administration scandals and not dismiss them outright just because the media outlets they watch are doing that.
He said, “We can’t have a conversation unless we say ‘Okay, my side did these things wrong.” And just as conservatives wrongly wrapped themselves in the flag and went blind, Beck told Obama supporters, “Don’t wrap yourself in a president and go blind.”
He pleaded with them to “do what we did with George W. Bush” and start questioning what Obama’s doing.
