Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway today scolded the Hillary Clinton campaign for going after FBI Director James Comey, but it’s not as if she hasn’t done that before.
Team Clinton has basically gone to war with Comey over that revelation about potentially new emails of interest, and Conway tsk-tsk’ed their attempts:
Astonished by the all-out assault on Comey by Team Clinton. Suggesting he is a partisan interfering with the election is dangerous & unfair.
— Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) October 29, 2016
Now, leaving aside the fact that her own candidate has cited this very investigation to declare the system’s rigged, there’s also this:
Zero accountability. "When combined, these moments prove that Mr. Comey gave Hillary Clinton a pass." https://t.co/oBMxYlKHaj via @WSJ

Conway did attempt to explain why this isn’t hypocrisy:
This is easy.
1st investigation: Through statement & cong'l testimony, Comey publicly undercut his conclusion
2nd investigation: new info— Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) October 29, 2016

Plus, Comey had 2nd-guessed himself thru July 5th statement and subsequent congressional testimony rebutting Hillary claims. https://t.co/sEeLaTaSjr

Now, just to be clear, this isn’t hypocrisy solely on Conway’s part. Presenting DNC interim chair Donna Brazile.
From July:
Wash. Post Editorial Board: Republicans Are Damaging Rule Of Law By Attacking FBI Director Comey https://t.co/HEyZqdRsaK

Pathetic. Simply pathetic to watch members of Congress grill Director Comey because he's not playing their game of gotcha. #Overreach

And since yesterday:
@ggreenwald. Perhaps Mr Comey can explain it to the American ppl the same way he wrote to his colleagues.

The damage Comey’s bad timing could do https://t.co/RkNkyoVTer
