Dan Savage Asks Twitter to Make ‘Duggar’ the New Santorum

Josh Duggar has been a source of great commotion in the last few days after the 19 Kids and Counting star revealed that he had molested underaged girls and some of his sisters as a teenager. The recent surge of internet traffic and news coverage on the family has shown that the Duggars have plenty to think about, from widespread criticism of the family’s traditionalist lifestyle, the pulling of their show, and the loss of advertisers. Soon though, the Duggars might face a new and unexpected development whenever anyone tries to Google their name in the future.
Political commentator and sex advice columnist Dan Savage achieved linguistic infamy in 2003 when he asked his readers to re-define Rick Santorum‘s name as a sex act, following an interview where the senator blasted homosexuality. Twelve years later, it is still possible to google “Santorum” and receive a definition of “the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex”. On Tuesday, Savage took to twitter and asked his followers to help him do it again.
Clearly "duggary" needs to be a word. Should it mean sexual hypocrisy? Fundy hypocrisy? Child molestation? #duggary

Savage’s followers have already started to contribute submissions that will soon be seen on Urban Dictionary.

@fakedansavage I think "fundy hypocrisy" and "child molestation" are already pretty much synonymous.

Mike Luckovich, a cartoonist for Atlanta Journal Constitution, had a similar idea in an illustration he gave showing Josh Duggar holding a new label for his name while wearing a fake halo.
