Ex-State Dept. Official Emailed Hillary with Concern About Staffers Using Private Email

An ex-State Department official emailed Hillary Clinton in 2011 with concerns about “high officials” using home email accounts instead of sticking to the State Department system.

This particular email came out in today’s new State Department dump of Clinton’s emails, and is of some note now, considering the controversy over her own use of private email.

In the email, sent by Anne-Marie Slaughter (dated just a few months after she left state), it’s suggested to Clinton that someone should be speaking out on this issue and how “antiquated” State Department technology is.

Clinton says the idea is “good sense,” but Cheryl Mills says, “I am not sure we want to telegraph how much folks do or don’t do off state mail b/c it may encourage others who are out there.”
