Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand gave a fiery speech at the Personal Democracy Forum at New York University on Friday, her remarks sprinkled with more than one F-bomb.
The Democratic senator from New York, already rumored to be in contention for the 2020 presidential election, issued a rallying cry to the Democratic party, which finds itself in its weakest electoral position in years — but has since the election of President Donald Trump seen a surge in enthusiasm.
“If we are not helping people, we should go the fuck home,” Gillibrand said of lawmakers, according to Steve Peoples of the Associated Press:

Per Deadspin’s Hamilton Nolan, Gillibrand also had sharp words for Trump — asking herself if the president has “kept his promises,” Gillibrand shot back a simple “Fuck no.”

Gillibrand is no stranger to firing off colorful words — in an interview with New York Magazine from April, the junior Senator made a number of profanity-laced comments, on topics ranging from:
Girl Scout cookies: “Oh my God, I’ve got to fucking order those cookies. I’m terrible! I didn’t respond properly!”
A 9/11 health bill: “To pass that bill, I first went to my female colleagues and said, ‘How do I do this? I have no fucking clue.”
The Family Act, a paid family leave bill: “Which is that we’re here to help people, and if we’re not helping people, we should go the fuck home.”
Examples of grassroots politics effecting change: “These things are real examples. I believe this. I truly believe it. It’s not bullshit.”
