Hannity Renews Attack on Ben Sasse: Bill Maher Used a Racial Slur In Front of You, and You ‘Said NOTHING’

Sean Hannity has been on a long tear against Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) after a report came out yesterday that the Nebraska Republican criticized him in his new book.
To recap: Hannity responded to the book excerpts by calling Sasse a disappointment and accusing him of “conning” him. Sasse later made an offer for them to debate, after which Hannity trashed him as a “con artist” and mocked him as a phony.
And Hannity isn’t letting up, this time going after the Republican senator for not being more condemnatory towards Bill Maher:
Really Senator @BenSasse “Mr.Civility” you lecture me but went on Maher’s show, and said NOTHING WHEN a racial slur was used? https://t.co/f1Xm1lApTN

As a refresher, since this was a couple million news cycles ago, Maher spoke with Sasse last year and, as they engaged in some light banter about Nebraska, the senator said, “You’re welcome. We’d love to have you work in the fields with us.”
To which Maher jokingly responded, “Working the fields? Senator, I’m a house n*gga.”
Maher later apologized for that comment, but before he did, Sasse had tweeted he regretted not following up on that instead of just cringing:
Am walking off a redeye from LAX.
3 reflections on @billmaher
1. I’m a 1st Amendment absolutist. Comedians get latitude to cross hard lines.— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
2. But free speech comes with a responsibility to speak up when folks use that word. Me just cringing last night wasn’t good enough.

3. Here’s what I wish I’d been quick enough to say in the moment: “Hold up, why would you think it’s OK to use that word?…

“…The history of the n-word is an attack on universal human dignity. It’s therefore an attack on the American Creed. Don’t use it.” https://t.co/kEZm5vPFHK— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
