In Fox Interview, Gary Johnson Lays Out His Debate Strategy and Pretends to Pick Nose
Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson was in good spirits when he appeared on The Greg Gutfeld Show Sunday to lay out his strategy for debating the major party candidates, should he be given the opportunity, and to engage in some on-air goofery with the show’s eponymous host.
In order for Johnson to appear on the debate stage with Clinton and Trump in September, he would need to poll at least 15 percent nationally. He hovers over 8 percent at the moment.
Johnson put his odds of snagging a podium at the debate at “better than 50 percent.”
“I like you because you’re for free markets and free minds and I think you are like a sleeper candidate. You are a two-term governor but you are also kind of goofy. Right?” Gutfeld asked.
Johnson mock-yawned, murmuring, “Sleeper candidate. Sleeper candidate.” He added, “What’s goofy? What’s goofy, man?” as he pretended to pick his nose.
