Jeff Sessions To Hold Press Conference About Ongoing Investigations Into Leaks on Friday

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is scheduled to hold a press conference about the ongoing investigation into the leaks that have plagued the Trump administration.
It is uncertain as to what specifically Sessions will share with the public, but he is expected to “go further,” including pointing to specific news reports that were the direct result of an illegal leak. According to Fox News, the announcement “may provide more of an overview of what the DOJ hopes to accomplish rather than specific prosecutions at this stage.”
It is also unknown whether or not Sessions will address the ongoing unmasking probe that involves the allegations of the Obama administration abusing their incidental surveillance program to spy on American citizens, particularly those in Donald Trump‘s inner circle during the election.
The Attorney General has faced an avalanche of attacks from President Trump in recent weeks for his recusal from the ongoing Russia investigation and not being more active in criminal probes against his 2016 rival Hillary Clinton or his predecessor President Obama.
Sessions called Trump’s attacks “kind of hurtful,” but has no intention of resigning from the Department of Justice unless his boss requests for his resignation.
