Live From Farmville, Virginia: Here Are the Best Moments in Vice Presidential Debate History
CAN YOU FEEL THAT EXCITEMENT?!
That tickle up your leg is the pure, raw energy emanating from the Vice Presidential Debate between Virginia Senator Tim Kaine and Indiana Governor Mike Pence. The event kicks off tonight here from the campus of Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia at 9 p.m. EST, moderated by Elaine Quijano of CBS News.
If you thought Clinton v. Trump was exciting, just wait until these two firebrands step into the debate ring. But before they go toe-to-toe in an event that I think will be watched by at least a dozen or so people at home, we put together some of the best moments in Veep debate history.
Maybe voters aren’t inclined to vote because of the second person on the ballot, but the one-and-done VP Debate has provided some truly memorable moments in its history. Who can forget Sarah Palin going up against Amtrak Joe in 2008, one of the most watched events in political history? Or Michael Dukakis‘s Veep choice Lloyd Bentsen of Texas schooling Dan Quayle on where he stood compared to Jack Kennedy?
Take a look at some of the top moments above, and be sure to keep it locked here to Mediaite all night long for analysis, breakdown, and exclusive coverage from Virginia.
