Missouri Professor Melissa Click: ‘I Wish to Express My Sincere Apology for My Actions’
The University of Missouri posted a statement early tonight from Melissa Click, the communications professor who was caught on video harassing student reporters.
In that video, Click shouted that reporters needed to leave the student protesters’ safe space. She said, “Hey, who wants to help me get this reporter out of here! I need some muscle over here!”
Click is a media professor, and that video went viral online amid the reactions to UM protests over concerns that administrators weren’t doing enough to respond to racism on campus.
In her statement, Click apologizes for her actions and says she spoke to one of the reporters this afternoon. You can read her full statement below:

And that journalist she spoke to confirmed the call:
Just talked to Tim Tai, the photojournalist, who confirmed Melissa Click apologized to him. Said she was "very gracious" on the phone.
