Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said today that as far as he and Paul Ryan are concerned, Vladimir Putin is not welcome at the Capitol.
The White House had invited Putin to D.C. last week after the Helsinki summit, but the Kremlin has indicated they have not accepted yet.
In Helsinki, @POTUS agreed to ongoing working level dialogue between the two security council staffs. President Trump asked @Ambjohnbolton to invite President Putin to Washington in the fall and those discussions are already underway.

And if Putin does eventually end up coming, Ryan too said today Putin wouldn’t be welcome to the Capitol, explaining, “We would certainly not be giving him an invitation to do a joint-session. That’s something we reserve for allies.”
