Mitt Romney Offers Sly Support of Graham’s Explosive Debate Performance
The CNBC “undercard” debate didn’t even end an hour ago, but many people have taken to Twitter and cable news to declare Senator Lindsey Graham the victor. Graham offered a series of comedic barbs towards his GOP peers — even hurling one squarely aimed at Democratic challenger Bernie Sanders (“Their number two guy went to the Soviet Union… and I don’t think he ever came back!,” Graham slammed).
Well, if Graham needed any further support to validate his Wednesday night performance, he should look no further than the very man who won this process last time around: former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, the Republican nomination winner in 2012. Romney immediately took to Twitter to offer up his support for Graham’s rhetoric:
After hearing @LindseyGrahamSC talk foreign policy tonight, it’s clear he belongs on the big stage.

During the debate opposite Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum, and George Pataki, Graham did not hold back, perhaps taking a page out of the recent Bush-Kasich joint playbook. At one point he said, “I am tired of telling people things that they want to hear that we know we’re not gonna do.”
