National Weather Service Sends Out Dire Irma Warning: ‘THIS IS AS REAL AS IT GETS’
The National Weather Service is not messing around. They have been issuing serious warnings all day as Hurricane Irma approaches.
At least 23 people have been reported dead, and there have been alarming reports about the devastation so far..
The National Weather Service tweeted this dire, all-caps warning about the Florida Keys:
***THIS IS AS REAL AS IT GETS***
***NOWHERE IN THE FLORIDA KEYS WILL BE SAFE***
***YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO EVACUATE***

The acting director of the NHC warned today that “it’s not clear that it’s a survivable situation for anybody that is still there in the Keys”:
