Outnumbered Brawls Over Mueller Investigation: Firing Comey was ‘Obstruction of Justice!’

The conversation on Outnumbered got pretty intense today as the panel talked about whether the White House’s legal team considered helping to engineer pardons for Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn.

Democratic strategist Zac Petkanas was today’s #OneLuckyGuy, and he engaged the panel in a series of rousing debates about everything from Hillary Clinton to the alleged FISA abuses against President Donald Trump‘s campaign.

When the discussion turned to the reports about former White House lawyer John Dowd, Kennedy noted that there might be ethical concerns if such an offer was made to Rick Gates in light of the recent news of his conversations with Russian officials.

As Dagen McDowell talked about Jay Sekulow‘s denial of the pardon reports, Petkanas said “this just really looks bad for the White House” in terms of the ongoing Robert Mueller investigation. When Petkanas invoked the firings of James Comey and Andrew McCabe, he got a lot of pushback — particularly from Kennedy.

As the two proceeded into a sparring match, Petkanas declared “[Trump] fired the FBI director, that’s obstruction of justice!” Kennedy responded “Hillary would’ve done the exact same thing and you know it.”
