Prominent Conservatives Are Coming Together to Publish Anti-Trump ‘Manifesto’
Roughly two dozen prominent conservatives are coming together for a big anti-Donald Trump manifesto rejecting Trump as a supposed conservative choice for the presidency.
The big anti-Trump effort is reportedly running in the conservative publication National Review tomorrow. A number of National Review‘s writers have repeatedly expressed very negative feelings about Trump, and correspondent Kevin D. Williamson released a book two months ago called The Case Against Trump.
The New York Times first broke the news, and CNN’s later report reveals that the strike will consist of “a blistering editorial that labels Trump a threat to conservatism,” as well as individual essays by all these conservative writers taking a stand against The Donald.
This was apparently spearheaded by National Review editor Rich Lowry, who is really not a Trump fan. Lowry will be appearing on Fox News tonight to presumably discuss the big news.
This effort comes amid reports that some establishment Republicans hate Ted Cruz so much, they’re debating Trump as a (marginally) better option.
UPDATE –– 10:10 pm EST: The entire manifesto is live and you can read it here.
