Protesters Gather Outside Detroit Venue for Fox News GOP Debate
Protesters have gathered tonight outside the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan––the venue for tonight’s Fox News GOP debate––to make their voices heard about the Flint water crisis.
The Michigan chapter of Reverend Al Sharpton‘s group National Action Network is in attendance. The president of the NAN chapter said in a statement, “In the midst of the Flint water crisis many feel Republicans in the Senate have been silent on passing a bill to support the rebuilding of the infrastructure of Flint. Activist will gather in front of the Fox Theatre and stage a protest demanding a Republican response from candidates and its party.”
The group Fight for $15, a movement of workers fighting for a $15 minimum wage, is also involved. They’ve posted images and video from their protest on Twitter:
