Sarah Sanders: Niger-Benghazi Comparisons Are ‘Cheap Attempt’ to Taint Trump’s Presidency
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders went on the offensive against President Donald Trump’s critics who are comparing this month’s ambush in Niger to the 2012 Benghazi embassy attack.
Huckabee appeared on Fox & Friends Tuesday, where she talked about Trump’s upcoming tax reform push along with Senator Bob Corker’s latest slams against the president. Eventually, Sanders was asked about those who have drawn connections between the deaths of the four American soldiers to the deaths of the four officials who died in Libya.
“These are not comparable events. I know that the Democrats want to make this a big, negative attack piece against this president. Look, this is still an active investigation. We’re still in review. I think General Dunford did an incredible job yesterday kinda laying out the facts of what we know at this point, but to try to compare the two is simply just a cheap attempt by the Democrats to taint this president.”
