Scarborough: Glenn Beck Border Visit ‘Most Christ-Like Thing Anybody Could Do’

Glenn Beck has gotten some negative reactions from his audience over his plans to go to the U.S.-Mexican border and provide the children there with food and supplies, and an MSNBC host praising him might only add to that. But today Joe Scarborough stood up for Beck and declared that what he’s doing is “the most Christ-like thing anybody could do.”

Mika Brzezinski said she’s amazed there’s backlash to something as simple as bringing toys to children. Beck insisted earlier this week that even if you’re against the immigration reform Democrats are pushing, compassion is what’s needed, not hatred.

And far from turning into a liberal stooge, Scarborough argued that Beck is actually adhering to the teachings of Jesus himself.

“A lot of people are saying that he’s actually playing into Barack Obama’s hands, that he’s playing by Obama’s handbook. He’s actually playing by another person’s handbook, Jesus’ handbook… What Glenn Beck is doing is the most Christ-Like thing that anybody could do.”

Harold Ford Jr. added that the backlash exposes the “hypocrisy” of Christians who claim to be guided by their faith but are now taking issue with Beck’s good works.
