Sean Hannity Says Fox Colleague Shep Smith Is ‘So Anti-Trump’

Last week Fox News’ Shep Smith got a lot of attention for his rant about all the “lies” from Team Trump on Russian contacts. Well, yesterday colleague Sean Hannity noted that on his radio show.

Hannity spoke with Sebastian Gorka yesterday in an interview that started out by talking about CNN’s ratings and the “destroy-Trump” media.

But then the conversation turned to Fox News. In an exchange flagged by CNN’s Oliver Darcy today, Hannity touted the differences of opinion on Fox News to contrast with how, as he argued, the mainstream media is just so uniformly anti-Trump.

He cited the difference of views on shows like Outnumbered, Fox News Specialists, and Special Report, but also mentioned Smith in particular:

“Shep is a friend, I like him, but he’s so anti-Trump. I mean, he went off on a rant last week. That’s fine.”

Hannity made it clear that even though there are some voices at Fox that “drive [him] nuts,” he and Smith are still friendly and just respectfully disagree with each other.

UPDATE –– 3:56 pm ET: Shep Smith tells Mediaite in a statement, “Sometimes facts are displeasing. Journalists report them without fear or favor.”
