Swastikas, Graffiti, Dog Poop: People Keep Finding Ways to Deface Trump’s Hollywood Star

As a former resident of the disreputable underbelly of Hollywood, California, I can tell you that the streets are even dirtier and the character of the people shadier than most places in New York. Hollywood Boulevard is perhaps the worst culprit, where flashy billboards selling Tinseltown success brush up against depressing street urchins and creatures of questionable morals.

It’s the sort of place where a Walk of Fame star of a controversial figure — say, Donald J. Trump — is subject to the most vile of defacement efforts. In light of the former reality TV star’s derisive rhetoric during the 2016 campaign, people in Hollywood have done exactly that: take every opportunity to make their mark on the Trump enshrined legacy.

Take for example, this Tweet that shows just how badly someone in the growing #NeverTrump movement scribbled on Trump’s star with a Sharpie, writing “Racist” and “Don’t Vote Trump” all over:

Then it was a Twitter user named Kansas Puckett, who made sure to broadcast to the world that her dog “hates” the GOP candidate, leaving behind a small gesture of, uh, let’s call it appreciation:

This twitter egg named Rhoda snapped a photo from the Nazi-inspired fall collection of the Trump line:

…and sometimes, hating on Donald Trump requires help that only super human strength can provide.

The latest effort to silence — literally — the influence of the real estate mogul was snapped recently: a stencil’d “mute” graphic over the star that Trump was given from The Apprentice‘s success:

While calls have grown for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove Trump’s star, president Leron Gubler clarified for the Los Angeles Times recently that a star has never been removed. “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. because of this, we have never removed a star from the walk.”

That’s right — not even discredited sitcom star Bill Cosby has had his star removed from the Walk of Fame. The late Johnny Grant, former committee chairman, once clarified the issue, saying, “A celebrity’s politics, philosophy, irrational behavior, outrageous remarks or anything like that have never been cause to remove a Walk of Fame star.” Wow — politics, philosophy, irrational behavior, and outrageous remarks? Grant predicted the Trump controversies four-for-four! That means that no matter how many comparisons of manhood we see in the 2016 election — no matter how many wives have their looks critiqued or proposals to ban religious groups — the Trump star will remain firmly fixed to the streets of Hollywood.

And with it, we suspect, lots of dogs who will need to relieve themselves.
