Today on ABC’s This Week, George Stephanopoulos was pretty much the mayor of Not Having It City and he invited VP-elect Mike Pence to pay a little visit. The veteran journo repeatedly hit Pence with questions about President-elect Donald Trump‘s (false) claims that millions of people voted illegally in the election.
Pence smiled serenely while Stephanopoulos asked about the tweet and then responded that four years ago, the Pew Research Center found that there were millions of inaccurate voter registrations. That’s when the whole not-having-it thing came into play. The anchor cut him off, told him that the author of that study has said that his study from four years ago has no bearing on the 2016 election, and let Pence try his defense again.

Pence chose to switch topics and moved on to talking about how irrelevant the Democratic talking point that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote is.
Once again, Stephanopoulos was — you guessed it — not having it. He curtly informed Pence that he wasn’t questioning that the Republican side had accumulated the electoral votes necessary to win, then asked about Trump’s claim once again.
Watch above to see how Pence pivoted on that and how Stephanopoulos responded.
