The Daily Show to Hillary: You Should Probably Avoid Awkward Race Jokes

The Daily Show tonight tackled Hillary Clinton and Bill de Blasio‘s painfully uncomfortable joke and had to explain that was… um… not a good idea.

Trevor Noah explained to Clinton, “You’re not a good joke-teller.” The only way they could have fixed the situation, he said, was to cut the video to footage of black people in the crowd laughing.

Noah said he doesn’t think the sketch was necessarily racist, “they just got too comfortable.”
