There’s a ‘Love Rally’ Tonight to Counter Phoenix Anti-Islam Rally

love rallyIn response to the anti-Islam Phoenix rally outside an Islamic community center later tonight, there’s a planned counter-protest “Love Rally” to be held at the same place.

The anti-Islam rally is billed as a freedom of speech rally to combat censorship and intimidation. For example, there’s going to be a Muhammad cartoon contest in response to how two individuals (from Phoenix) went outside one in Texas with weapons.

But there are some people who aren’t terribly happy about what they perceive as a hateful, Islamophobic message from that group, and they’re responding with a “Love Rally.”

The group’s Facebook page was organized by Leonard Clark, who, like the organizer of the free speech rally, is a veteran. He told 12News, “The message is to not fear a whole religious group of people.”

The Love Rally will also be held outside the Islamic Community Center, around the same time as the anti-Islam rally.
