Trump on Frigid Weather: ‘Perhaps We Could Use a Little Bit of That Good Old Global Warming’
This one’s a head-scratcher.
President Donald Trump was back at it on Twitter Thursday night. Tweeting from the comfort of Mar-a-Lago (where the high was 78 degrees on Thursday), the President chimed in with his thoughts about the frigid temperatures being felt along much of the east coast.
In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!

“In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record,” Trump wrote. “Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!”
Okay, so let’s see if we have this one right: Trump is saying that the U.S could use a little global warming, while also saying that the U.S. was prepared to pay “TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS” to protect against it? Hmm…
This, of course, to say nothing of the fact that global warming impacts the climate, not the weather. Climate refers to the conditions in general and over a long period of time, while weather refers to the short-term conditions.
Twitter had a lot to say about this latest Trump dispatch, and we’ll be posting some of best the reactions shortly. In the meantime, Bundle up!
