Trump to the People of Puerto Rico: ‘Do Not Believe the #FakeNews!’

Following his morning tweetstorm slamming San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz for criticizing his administration’s response to Hurricane Maria while saying Puerto Rican victims want everything done for them, President Donald Trump followed that up a few hours later with another tweet calling the citizens “great people” while patting himself on the back for doing an “amazing job.”

Well, he hasn’t yet put his phone down.

I a series of tweets this afternoon, Trump praised the Puerto Rican governor and other officials while taking aim at his very favorite target — the media:

The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, is a great guy and leader who is really working hard. Thank you Ricky!

We must all be united in offering assistance to everyone suffering in Puerto Rico and elsewhere in the wake of this terrible disaster.

The call for unity is very interesting considering that he spent the morning taking aim at a government official currently on the ground in Puerto Rico and devoted several tweets to claiming the media is spreading fake news about what is going on in Puerto Rico.
