Thursday afternoon, CNN severed ties with its most Donald Trump-backer Jeffrey Lord after Lord tweeted “Sieg Heil!” at Media Matters president Angelo Carusone.
Twitter had plenty to say after the firing — with most celebrating the move. Here’s a sampling of the reaction from social media:
Adios @realJeffreyLord. Fired by CNN. #ByeFelicia https://t.co/JSVeE8LuD7

An amendment to “never tweet”: If it takes a stupid tweet for CNN to fire Jeffrey Lord, I’m all for it. pic.twitter.com/neWCyzg8lG

Media smears Jeffrey Lord for making “Nazi gesture” when he was clearly satirizing the left. https://t.co/Du3w9a7m3l

As Maya Angelou told us, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
Kick rocks Jeffrey Lord!

There is something wrong in a world in which CNN fires Jeffrey Lord but retains diva @ananavarro who is literally dumber than dog shit

Most every operative who has worked campaigns in recent years was wondering what Lord was doing on the tube in first place

CNN should be ashamed at how long they kept Jeffrey Lord on the air in the first place. Shameful.
— billy eichner (@billyeichner) August 10, 2017
CNN was good with Jeff Lord’s bullshit for a long time. That they discovered some sort of moral compass today is quite a trick.

Jeffrey Lord having to tweet a literal Nazi salute to get fired from CNN tells you everything you need to know about Jeff Zucker.

I bet Jeffrey Lord ends up on “Hannity”.

RIP CNN’s Skype cam of Jeffrey Lord’s basement
