Stemming from fighter Gegard Mousasi expressing his concerns with how President Donald Trump’s travel restrictions will impact his upcoming fight, his bosses at the Ultimate Fighting Championship have issued as statement about the executive order to fight blog Bloody Elbow:
We are aware of the federal travel ban. There are numerous variables including a judicial injunction. We are monitoring and will be affirmatively engaged to ensure that our fighters and employees are able to compete and do their jobs.
The list of fighters who could potentially be impacted by the order includes Mousasi (born in Iran before moving to the Netherlands), Randa Markos (born in Iran, moved Canada), Jarjis Danho (born in Syria, moved to Germany), and Reza Madadi (born in Iran, moved to Sweden). All except Danho currently have fights booked during the period covered by the order.
