Watch Ben Ferguson and Keith Boykin Yell Over Each Other in Epic CNN Fight
Earlier today, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to comment on his scheduled meeting with “Chuck and Nancy” to discuss a new spending bill and tax reform, stating that he didn’t see a deal because the Democratic leaders wanted illegal immigration, high taxes and more crime. Unsurprisingly, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi backed out of the meeting.
This afternoon, CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin brought on CNN political commentators Ben Ferguson and Keith Boykin to discuss this development. Well, discuss maybe isn’t that accurate of a description.
Almost immediately, the two men began shouting over each other as they tried to make their points. The liberal Boykin exclaimed that the president “poisoned the waters” by sending out his tweet this morning while the conservative Ferguson kept insisting that Democrats can’t claim the moral high ground if they “don’t show up to the meeting like a three-year-old.”
And on and on it went. For seemingly minutes at a time, it was nearly impossible to tell what each man was saying as the “debate” devolved into a cacophony.
At the end of the lengthy back-and-forth, Baldwin ended it by declaring that she was blowing her “invisible whistle” and stating that “we love you guys because you obviously come from very different places, very different perspectives, and you argue.”
The two men do have some history going at it on CNN. A few months ago, they engaged in a fiery debate over Colin Kaepernick, NFL players kneeling during the national anthem and whether black athletes are politically active.
