Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today to discuss the White House’s latest plans and administrative agenda.
The briefing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. EST.
It’s likely that the press secretary will face questions about how the Graham-Cassidy measure has failed as the GOP’s latest effort to repeal and replace Obamacare. President Trump has repeatedly insisted that the health reform bill has enough support to pass, even though the vote was suspended after it looked like it wouldn’t achieve a simple majority in the Senate.
Another topic which might get play is the White House’s plan to address the devastation in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Earlier this morning, an announcement came out that Trump would waive Jones Act regulations for foreign ships transporting cargo to the island. This could help speed up deliveries of food and emergency supplies, and Trump tweeted earlier today about how things have progressed so far.
The electric power grid in Puerto Rico is totally shot. Large numbers of generators are now on Island. Food and water on site.
