Who’s the Undocumented Activist That Heckled Obama on Immigration?
During a speech on immigration reform Monday, President Obama was heckled over deportations by activist Ju Hong. Hong is a graduate of UC Berkeley, and last year the university’s campus life YouTube account posted a profile video of the undocumented student.
When Hong confronted Obama during his speech about issuing an executive order to stop deportations, the president said he doesn’t have the power to do that (and Politifact backed him up on it).
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Hong has a history of “gutsy” protests, having been previously arrested for confronting the UC Board of Regents about the hiring of former Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano as the UC president.
