Why is the ‘Monopoly Man’ at the Senate Equifax Hearing?

In his greatest cameo since Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, the Monopoly man popped up at a Senate hearing today for the former CEO of Equifax.
And Twitter got a real kick out of it:

Friends, I know things are tough right now. But at least there’s a dude dressed as Monopoly’s Rich Uncle Pennybags at the Equifax hearings. pic.twitter.com/Vlnmf34HKV

So why is the Monopoly Man at the Senate hearing? Well, Amanda Werner from Public Citizen and Americans for Financial Reform went to the hearing dressed as Rich Uncle Pennybags with a “Get Out of Jail Free” card:
Hello! The Monopoly Man is here to raise attention to Equifax’s get-out-of-jail-free card, forced arb. #RipoffClause https://t.co/RL7LF9ZtaX pic.twitter.com/9NjrzDxDlv
— Amanda Werner (@wamandajd) October 4, 2017
Werner told CNN Tech, “I am dressed as the Monopoly Man to call attention to Equifax and Wells Fargo’s use of forced arbitration as a get-out-of-jail-free card for massive misconduct. They use these ripoff clauses buried in the fine print to ensure that consumers can’t join together to hold them accountable in court.”
And Werner spoke to The Young Turks earlier today in costume to further explain the protest:
