Woman’s Lawsuit Against Sperm Bank for Accidentally Giving Her Black Donor Thrown Out

cramblettAn Illinois judge this week threw out the lawsuit of a woman who was suing a sperm bank because they accidentally gave her a black donor.

Last year, when Jennifer Cramblett filed the lawsuit, she explained that while she unconditionally loves her biracial daughter, she said she wasn’t quite prepared to raise her in an almost all-white community and was angry at the sperm bank for screwing up.

Cramblett and her partner worried about their daughter not being able to fit in, and then sued the sperm bank for family stress, medical expenses, etc., seeking $50,000 in damages.

But a judge threw out the case this week, siding with the sperm bank attorneys that generally, wrongful birth suits generally involves birth defects that parents were not informed about.

Cramblett could still re-file and go after the sperm bank for negligence, though.
