Steve Bannon Threatens Fox News, Says In Next Trump Admin ‘We Could Show’ Murdoch Purchased Network Illegally

Former Trump campaign manager and White House advisor, Steve Bannon, tore into Fox News this week after host Brian Kilmeade warned that “if Donald Trump listens to Matt Gaetz and Steve Bannon, he loses.”
Bannon responded to Kilmeade’s comments on his far-right War Room podcast Tuesday, which is influential with the MAGA base. “Let’s talk about the Murdochs, because Kilmeade doesn’t matter. I mean, he’s a, actually Brian is I think a pretty nice guy. And I’m a fan of his books. But he’s, he’s an apparatchik. He’s just getting paid. So he’s told what to do,” Bannon began, adding:
You know, how they run the system over there and how they run it? You know, starting at the couch in the morning, bouncing up and down, and then go all the way through the evening shows. Murdoch, did I mention they were foreigners? Actually, somebody very interesting with the New York Post over the weekend at CPAC, I finally got confirmation that it’s getting to the Murdochs that I call them foreigners, something specifically about the New York Post.
I heard that, well, the attorneys over there. Remember, Bannon says we’re owned by foreigners, so it doesn’t sit very well. Sorry about that. That’s just reality, they’re foreigners and they’re not good foreigners. They’re bad people. Trump, because Trump is ascendant. MAGA is ascendant.
Bannon went on to accuse Fox News of pushing what he called anti-Trump narratives and of having supported Trump’s primary rivals from Ron DeSantis to Nikki Haley.
“You don’t see Fox attacking Nikki at all. You certainly don’t see them attacking her positions as positions that are stone-cold losers,” Bannon fumed, adding:
Why? Because it’s their positions. They are neo-liberal neocons. They fully support the concentration of wealth in this nation. They are foreign. It’s a foreign billionaire family that do not, does not have the best interests of the United States in mind, except as a market where they happen to own media assets, including a television network, I believe, illegally.
And I believe we could show that in the next Trump administration, he gundecked his citizenship in the middle of trying to buy Fox Broadcasting. Because guess what? You’re supposed to be an American citizen. Well, they took care of that so he could buy it. It was completely illegal, completely bought foreign.
Bannon continued to rage against Fox in a conspiratorial manner and added, “They never put the nation first except to how to rape her. And they certainly don’t put you first.”
“You’re always dead last. Right now they’re there guilt-tripping you constantly. The Wall Street Journal constantly. The Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal constantly on the editorial page. Oh, you got to do Ukraine. You have to do Ukraine. You have to Ukraine. Have you ever seen more than an obsession about one topic than this? An obsession because they realize they’re losing their grip,” Bannon continued, pushing his long-held position that the U.S. should not help Ukraine fight off the brutal Russian invasion.
Bannon then turned to pushing debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, declaring, “And Fox was in on that. The Murdoch news was in on that.”
Bannon ended by addressing Kilmeade again, mocking his comments, “Oh, you got these radicals. You have these radicals. You have these radicals. Don’t. Please don’t. You can’t listen to these radicals.”
“Can’t listen to these radicals who want to talk about not getting into war. Everything Fox stands for, we stand for the opposite. You know why? We’re populists, nationalists, and they’re neo-liberal, neocons,” Bannon concluded.
