Senate Confirms Christopher Wray As FBI Director

On Tuesday, the Senate confirmed the appointment of Christopher Wray as the incoming FBI director.
With a 92-5 vote, Wray will take the lead from acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who took control over the agency since President Trump fired James Comey in May.
During his confirmation hearing, Wray told lawmakers that he would not pledge loyalty to the president and that he would resign if he was ordered to drop any investigation.
Wray served as a senior official in the Justice Department under President George W. Bush and most recently served as Gov. Chris Christie‘s personal lawyer during the Bridgegate scandal.
Last week, during President Trump’s avalanche of Twitter attacks aimed at his Attorney General Jeff Sessions, he took a shot at the current acting FBI Director McCabe.

CNN noted that in the history of FBI directors, only six people have voted against the nominee, five of which voted against Wray. They were all Democrats.
