Bernie Sanders Pledges to Release Tax Returns by Monday, Acknowledges He’s a Millionaire: ‘I Wrote a Best-Selling Book’

Senator Bernie Sanders has been repeatedly pressed to release his tax returns, and he is now pledging to do so by Tax Day this coming Monday.

Sanders made that promise in an interview with The New York Times:

“April 15 is coming,” Mr. Sanders, whose refusal to release his full past returns has become an issue in the campaign, said in an interview in his office. “We wanted to release 10 years of tax returns. April 15, 2019, will be the 10th year, so I think you will see them.”

He said they will be released “certainly before” April 15 and added that President Donald Trump should do the same.

Sanders said that his tax returns will “be a little more boring” than the president’s, acknowledging he himself is a millionaire:

Reminded that he is a millionaire, he did not shirk from the description.

“I wrote a best-selling book,” he declared. “If you write a best-selling book, you can be a millionaire, too.”

Sanders is set to appear on Fox News for a town hall on Monday.
