Bombshell Trump, Giuliani, Pompeo Revelations Ignite Twitter: ‘Not Even a Slow Drip’

Twitter exploded Monday afternoon after three major stories broke concerning President Donald Trump and efforts to allegedly solicit foreign aid for political purposes.

News from the past 30 mins:

– Rudy Giuliani subpoenaed.
– WSJ: Mike Pompeo was on Trump’s Ukraine call.
– NYT: Trump pushed Australian prime minister to help with probe he wants to undermine the Russia investigation.

Around 4 p.m. news broke that Rudy Giuliani has been subpoened by Congress for documents related to his Ukraine investigation.

Normally that would be enough news for one day, but shortly after that The Wall Street Journal published a story reporting that Mike Pompeo was actually on Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president.

A number of people pointed to an interview Pompeo did with Martha Raddatz where he seemed to indicate he didn’t know what was said on the call with Ukraine.

Sec Pompeo was on the July 25 call btw President Trump & Ukrainian President Zelensky, a source familiar tells CNN, as first reported by WSJ.

Last wk Pompeo said that to his knowledge actions undertaken by @StateDept officials on Ukraine were “entirely appropriate.”

CNN has confirmed WSJ reporting that Pompeo was on the July call between Trump & Zelensky. When ABC asked him eight days ago what he knew about those conversations about pushing for an investigation into the Bidens, he said, “You just gave me a report…none of which I’ve seen.”

And then right after that, The New York Times reported that Trump had pressured Australia to help him discredit Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Various commentators and journalists had thoughts about this, and about the generally busy hour in news Monday afternoon.

3) Pompeo outed as being on the Ukraine call
4) New breaking story about Trump asked Australia to help discredit Mueller
