Yesterday, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) met with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in London and discussed the site’s involvement in the 2016 election.
According to Rohrabacher, Assange “reaffirmed his aggressive denial” that Russia had anything to do with the leaking of DNC emails. And Assange was willing to offer proof, but apparently not for free.
The Hill’s John Solomon appeared on Hannity after he himself spoke with Rohrabacher and revealed an interesting proposition that might be taking place between Assange and President Trump.
“He said that he has some non-public information that Julian Assange gave him that he’s gonna take back to the president,” Solomon told Sean Hannity.
While Rohrabacher didn’t go into detail about such information, he did tell Solomon Assange’s “request.”
“Assange would like WikiLeaks to have a seat in the White House press corps,” Solomon said. “So there’s a little horse-trading going on in these negotiations.”
Solomon added that Assange has “signaled” that he might be open to do some sort of deal.
“The question is, is the American government, is the Congress interested in doing such a deal with a guy who was brought a lot of harm to national intelligence sources from the information he has released,” Solomon wondered. “He’s not a hero in the intelligence community, that’s for sure.”
