Democratic Sen. on Whether He’s Heard a ‘Satisfactory Explanation’ for Comey’s Firing: ‘No’

After the subject was addressed during Jeff Sessions‘ hearing today, a Democratic senator said on MSNBC he still hasn’t heard a good enough explanation for James Comey‘s firing.

Senator Jack Reed––who confronted Sessions about him flip-flopping on his opinion of Comey’s handling of the Clinton email investigation––spoke with Chuck Todd and expressed his dissatisfaction with how the Attorney General didn’t answer some important questions.

Todd asked him, “Do you feel like you have a satisfactory explanation yet for why Director Comey was fired?”

Reed responded, “No, no.”

He brought up his back-and-forth with Sessions on his “very inconsistent” statements, and he added that if there’s “no legal basis” for him to decline to answer certain questions, the Senate Intel Committee will have to demand answers.
