Fox News Contributor Joe Concha’s Appearance at Republican Fundraiser Canceled

Joe Concha on Fox News

Fox News contributor Joe Concha’s appearance at a Republican Party fundraiser has been canceled, a network spokesperson told Mediaite.

Concha, a media critic who appears frequently on Fox News, was set to deliver a keynote speech at an event put on by the Snohomish County Republican Party in Washington on May 7, Media Matters reported on Thursday.

Fox News has previously shut down political appearances by network talent.

In 2018, Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro appeared on stage with President Donald Trump at a campaign rally just before the midterm elections.

At the time, Fox issued a statement on those appearances.

“FOX News does not condone any talent participating in campaign events,” the network said. “We have an extraordinary team of journalists helming our coverage tonight and we are extremely proud of their work. This was an unfortunate distraction and has been addressed.”

Other hosts, including Pirro, Tomi Lahren, Dan Bongino, Greg Gutfeld, Mark Levin and Pete Hegseth have made appearances or delivered at Republican Party events.  In 2019, Fox’s Lawrence Jones pulled out of a Snohomish GOP event after a Media Matters story on his appearance.

The progressive watchdog group reported in 2019 that in recent years Pirro has raked in more than $200,000 for appearances at GOP fundraisers, while Hegseth has made more than $50,000.

Concha, who writes about the media for The Hill, is a former Mediaite columnist.
