‘He’s Got a Producer’s Mind’: Fox News Hosts Praise Trump Putting a Desk on Stage to Sign Some 200 Executive Orders

Fox News anchor Dana Perino asked co-host Kayleigh McEnany on Monday morning to weigh in on how incoming President Donald Trump plans to communicate his first actions in office as he begins his second term.

“That desk that they just showed where President Trump will be signing documents. Kayleigh talk to us a little bit about how Donald Trump views, how he thinks about how Americans in the world are going to see what he’s doing. He’s obviously he’s got a producer’s mind,” Perino asked of Trump’s former press secretary turned Fox host.

“He does. He has a producer’s mind. He knows how to do things in a way that captures the attention of the media and captivates the media. Some would say it’s the showmanship of it all, where he creates moments. And we saw that on the campaign trail with the garbage truck. We saw that with the Madison Square Garden rally. And now we’re going to see it today,” McEnany replied, adding:

And I think he wants to send a message today. I am doing my second term, big and bold. If you think about President Biden, who held the record for executive orders and executive actions, he signed 15 orders, two executive actions. Today, we’ll get 200 from President Trump.

“Speaking of those executive orders, you just see Kristi Noem here. She is the governor of South Dakota, but she is President Trump’s nominee to head up the Department of Homeland Security,” Perino said as the conversation then turned to arriving VIPs ahead of the inaugural ceremonies:

And you see Pam Bondi, the department, she’ll be the attorney general if confirmed, which is likely. So I believe does that Marco Rubio and Senator Marco Rubio, who is like, I know my way around here, guys, is going to lead everybody into the Capitol. You have RFK Jr as well. He hasn’t had his confirmation hearing yet. I’m not sure that’s scheduled yet. And so these are this is the team in the cabinet that he’s assembled. Pete Hegseth, of course, former Fox News colleague here and someone who has got the votes to be the secretary of defense.
