Joe Scarborough Unleashes Screaming Rant Against Facebook: ‘Their Product is KILLING Teenage Girls!’

Joe Scarborough went on a screaming tirade against Facebook over their reported awareness of the detrimental effect they have on teenage girls.

The yelling came Wednesday as Morning Joe discussed how Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, has a negative impact on young women. As Scarborough warned about the negative psychological impacts that have been tied to the photo-sharing website, he cautioned that Instagram wants to keep expanding its reach among young people.

Facebook is a frequent target of Scarborough’s ire, given that he frequently slams Instagram’s parent company for giving a platform to Covid misinformation, political extremism, and other kinds of odious content. This time, Scarborough focused on The Wall Street Journal’s reporting that Facebook has internal documents suggesting they know about Instagram’s negative effect.

Scarborough became steadily more emotional until he eventually started yelling as he accused Facebook of “killing our teenage girls,” and demanded Congressional action against the company.

Their documents showing they know their product — and it is a product just like cigarettes are a product — that their product is killing teenage girls. Their product is destroying the lives of teenage girls! Their product is causing anxiety to rise in teenage girls! Their product is causing depression to rise in teenage girls! And on Capitol Hill, you do nothing! You do nothing in the House. You do nothing in the Senate. You mumble around on campaign trails. You try blame the other side. No, this is you! This is you. You have a voting card. You have a voice, you represent this country in congress. Stop telling us what you can’t do, and start holding this malignant force in America in check.
