Kaitlan Collins Bursts Out Laughing at Republican’s Nikki Haley Dig: ‘You’re Not Gonna Endorse Her Because She Went on SNL!?’
CNN host Kaitlan Collins burst into laughter during an interview with Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) after Roy suggested he would not endorse Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley because she went on Saturday Night Live.
Following an argument with Roy about the Senate southern border bill, Collins said, “Last time we had you on the show, of course, you were out stumping for Ron DeSantis. He’s now dropped out of the race.”
She then asked him, “Who do you prefer now, Donald Trump or Nikki Haley?”
Roy replied:
As I’ve said out there, and you heard me say many times, I’m gonna support the Republican nominee. I was with Governor DeSantis, we’ll let this play out, but I don’t think that Governor Haley, with all due respect, is representing the conservatives that I represent when she’s going on SNL and she’s out, you know, kind of playing the establishment game and taking money from a bunch of establishment dollars–.
“Wait, what?” interrupted Collins before bursting into laughter. “You’re not gonna endorse her because she went on Saturday Night Live?”
Roy responded, “No, no, because she was saddling up with establishment money out of New York that she was using to go target Ron DeSantis to the tune of $26 million in Iowa. So she made her bed. Let’s go see if she can make it.”
Collins concluded the interview by pointing out that “Donald Trump spent a lot of money against Ron DeSantis as well.”
Haley made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live, Saturday, where she mocked former President Donald Trump for refusing to debate her and asked him if he would like to “borrow some money” to pay for his “legal fees.”
Appearing as a “concerned South Carolina voter” during a mock Trump town hall, Haley asked the fake Trump, “My question is, why won’t you debate Nikki Haley?”
“Oh my god, it’s her, the woman who was in charge of security on January 6th. It’s Nancy Belosi,” the Trump impersonator replied, to which Haley remarked, “Are you doing okay, Donald? You might need a mental competency test.”
Haley was then mocked herself by another member of the fake town hall audience, who asked, “What would you say was the main cause of the Civil War, and do you think it starts with an ‘S’ and ends with a ‘lavery’?”
“Yep, I probably should have said that the first time,” replied Haley, before pointing into the camera and saying, “and live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
