Kimmel: Kanye West and Trump’s Conversation is ‘Typically Held Between People Wearing Hospital Bracelets’
On Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel mocked the remarkable sit-down between Kanye West and “his MAGAsty” President Donald Trump.
Kimmel began by telling the audience by rejecting the notion that the jokes “write themselves” in the era of Trump.
“The jokes do not write themselves… or should I say- they did not write themselves… until today,” Kimmel said. “when Kanye West visited the White House.”
The late night talk show host expressed he has “no idea” why the White House allowed cameras in for this meeting.
“Not only is this a crazy conversation for this White House, this is the kind of conversation that would typically be held between people wearing hospital bracelets,” Kimmel quipped.
Kimmel noted that Trump was “sitting quietly” as an “irrational madman rants and raves at him.”
“Now he knows how we feel every morning when we wake up to him,” he told his audience.
He blasted Trump as a “monumental narcissist” for inviting any famous person who puts on a MAGA hat to the White House while Hurricane Michael is going on, noting that Kid Rock also stopped by. He then showed the clip of Kanye West hugging the president.
“Ladies and gentlemen, our 45th and 46th presidents of the United States,” Kimmel joked.
Kimmel compared Kanye West’s rant to Tom Hank talking to Wilson in the film Cast Away. He also mocked CNN’s April Ryan‘s “exclusive” reporting on commentary Ray J, musician and ex-boyfriend of Kanye West’s wife Kim Kardashian.
“Why does April Ryan have Ray J’s telephone number?!?” Kimmel asked.
