Kris Kobach on Whether Hillary Clinton Won Popular Vote: ‘We May Never Know’

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, one of the top figures on the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, appeared on MSNBC this afternoon to speak with Katy Tur about voter fraud.

They talked about election security, Russian meddling, and whether future meetings would be made public before getting around to the subject of voter fraud.

Tur brought up his “lingering doubts” and directly asked him, “Do you think Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by three to five million votes?”

Kobach responded, “We may never know the answer to that question.”

Tur asked again, “So again, you think that maybe Hillary Clinton did not win the popular vote?”

Kobach said, “We may never know the answer to that question.”

Tur brought up the President’s past tweet claiming he would have won the popular vote if not for the fraud that went on. She asked Kobach if that’s why the commission exists. He responded, “No, the purpose of the commission is not to validate or invalidate anything the President said in January regarding the popular vote of 2016.”

UPDATE –– 3:46 pm ET: As Tur tweeted later, she also asked if there were votes for Trump that may be in doubt. He said, “Absolutely.”
