Michael Avenatti on Potentially Running for President: I Have ‘Brains, Heart, and Courage’––Trump Doesn’t

Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer Michael Avenatti has been suggesting the possibility of running for President of the United States in 2020, and he elaborated a bit on CNN this afternoon.

Jim Sciutto started off by asking what makes him qualified to run.

“I think I’d be qualified,” Avenatti said, “because I have three things that the President lacks, Jim. Brains, heart, and courage. And I think I have those in spades compared to this President, and I am deeply disturbed at the direction this country has taken.”

He slammed the “lack of compassion” over child separation and said America’s allies are very concerned right now.

Sciutto pointed out he would lack the experience of other potential candidates. Avenatti shot back that “all of the experience in the world isn’t going to be worth anything if you can’t beat this guy.”

He actually called Trump an “exceptional campaigner” with good political instincts, noting how Trump easily beat typical politicians in 2016.

Avenatti insisted, “If he is re-elected this country is in a world of hurt, in a very very bad place.”
