RNC Chair: Allegations Against Harvey Weinstein ‘Not Even Comparable’ to Trump

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer spoke with RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel this afternoon, and they touched upon McDaniel publicly calling out Democrats over Harvey Weinstein’s donations:

Blitzer asked McDaniel this afternoon, “Should Republican candidates also return donations from people guilty of sexual harassment?”

McDaniel said if the GOP had a donor “at the level of Harvey Weinstein” who gave so much money, she would agree candidates should give it back, but she added, “I don’t know of anybody who’s had that background.”

And she again called on the DNC to give away all the money Weinstein gave to them.

Blitzer then noted the infamous comments from President Trump on the Access Hollywood tape, which led to McDaniel immediately saying, “It’s not even comparable.”

She continued:

“To even make that comparison is disrespectful to the President. He didn’t have eight settlements, he didn’t have women coming forward saying what––I mean, Harvey Weinstein admits that he did that. This isn’t even comparable.”

Blitzer ran the audio from the Access Hollywood tape and said, “This crosses political parties, right?”

McDaniel again said there’s a serious difference between the President––who has been accused of sexual harassment as well––and Weinstein.
