Sarah Palin To Sit Down With Sean Hannity For First Interview Since Arizona Shooting
Sarah Palin has been roped into ongoing discussion surrounding last weekend’s Arizona shooting during which Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head pretty much since the first shot was fired.
The former governor’s name first became embroiled in coverage of the event when some in the media pointed out that an ad appearing on Palin’s Facebook page for SarahPAC featured crosshairs over Giffords’ district, among others. Could this sort of “violent” imagery and inflamed, vitriolic rhetoric so prevalent in government and on television have had something to do with the shooter’s motives?, several outlets kept asking.
Turns out that this isn’t something anyone can know for sure (although, increasingly, it seems rather unlikely), but that didn’t stop Palin’s name from popping up again and again. The attention led Palin to create a video addressing her critics and denouncing the act of doling out blame for an isolated act of violence. Additionally, conservative pundit Glenn Beck read an email response from Palin about the weekend’s events during his radio show, telling listeners that she believes “our children will not have peace if politicos just capitalize on this to succeed in portraying anyone as inciting terror and violence.”
Now, Palin is gearing up for her first extended interview since the weekend’s shooting. On Monday, she’ll sit down with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity – a wise choice for Palin given she is herself a Fox contributor.
