Top 9 Rising Stars of Cable News

As we’ve mentioned many times before here, our de facto motto is “We watch cable news so you don’t have to.” That’s partially because the medium is chock full of heavily-recycled talking heads, non-stop shoutfests, and a general lack of progress in terms of better reporting, punditry, or interviewing.

We took a look across the big three cable nets — Fox, CNN, and MSNBC — and selected nine people we think have significantly increased their profile over the past year, while raising the bar for others, making them “rising stars” of a format desperately in need of fresh faces and new ideas.
