Trevor Noah Praises Senate GOPers For Inviting Sex Crimes Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell to Hearing

On Wednesday night, Trevor Noah offered rare praise for Senate Republicans ahead of the Thursday’s hearing of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his first accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.

Noah began by mocking Kavanaugh for the calendar he kept in 1982 that he is using as evidence to defend himself and poked fun at various entries like the ones that say he was grounded, ones that may mean he was getting “brewskis,” to one about seeing the film Grease 2.

“That must be code for something because nobody saw Grease 2,” Noah reacted. “That movie was so bad, John Travolta turned it down. Do you know how bad a movie has to be for John Travolta to turn it down? That dude did all three talking baby movies! All three! The third of which  was talking dogs. That’s how bad Grease 2 was.”

The Daily Show host then briefly addressed the allegations made by Julie Swetnick, who claimed Kavanaugh participated in gang rapes at parties in the early 1980s, something he thought was so “awful” that he didn’t know “how to process it.”

However, Noah tipped his hat to Senate Republicans “to their credit” for inviting Arizona sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell to cross examine Kavanaugh and Ford.

“Wow, kudos to the Republicans,” Noah reacted. “They’re getting a woman who’s sensitive to these issues to question Christine Blasey Ford. And some people may not like this, but I think it’s way better than their original plan, which was Mitch McConnell pulling a Mrs. Doubtfire.”
