Trump Goes on Tirade Against ‘Wacky’ Republican Senator After Fox Appearance: ‘BAD NEWS’

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) on Thursday, an hour and a half after the lawmaker appeared on Fox News’ Special Report.

Cassidy was one of seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump at his second impeachment trial in February 2021 after he helped instigate the Capitol insurrection where a mob of his supporters tried to overturn the 2020 election.

Apparently, the former president has not forgotten.

On Fox, Cassidy touted his Americas Act.

“Your act does what, Senator?” host Bret Baier asked.

“Our act creates a Western Hemispheric prosperity zone, if you will, which will be good for American workers, get us trading partners in South America,” Cassidy answered, before explaining the bill is in part designed to stem the flow of migrants at the southern border. “It’ll also be good for us all because our idea create a system to help weed out the corruption in Latin America. Now, if you can create investment environment where American companies will go and invest, or European countries, jobs come back from China to go to Latin America, people have a job, and they decide to stay home instead of migrating to the United States.”

Trump was less than impressed with Cassidy’s legislation, writing on Truth Social:

Wacky Bill Cassidy, the incompetent Senator from the great State of Louisiana, now wants to pour vast amounts of money into South American countries in the hope that their economies will become strong and vibrant, and people will stop coming to the U.S. I’d much rather spend the Trillions of Dollars necessary, most of which will be stolen by the “dictators,”inside the U.S., with a strong Border, like under the Trump Administration, to protect us. Tell this dope of a Senator about a “little thing” called AMERICA FIRST!!!Cassidy is BAD NEWS. The great people of Louisiana would love to have a “do over” of his Election. Cassidy is totally unelectable!

Cassidy is up for reelection in 2026. In May, he told CNN that Trump “cannot” win the election in 2024.
